Gate valve test

Gate valves should undergo sleeve pressure tests and sealing tests

Clean water should be used for pressure and sealing tests of gate valve housings, and chloride ion content in the water must not exceed 25 ppm during stainless steel valve testing.

The gate valve housing pressure test is 1.5 times the allowable working pressure at 20°C, and the sealing test is 1.1 times the allowable working pressure at 20°C. The test duration must not be less than 5 minutes. The test temperature is 5-40°C; if it is below 5°C, heating measures should be adopted.

Pressure regulation and sealing tests of gate valves should be calibrated according to national standards and planning data. The calibration of the safety valve should be well documented, sealed, and submitted together with the calibration report.

Conditions before pipeline system testing

During the test, pressure should be applied. When the working pressure rises to 50% of the test working pressure, if there are no abnormalities or leakage, the pressure should be gradually adjusted.
